Franklands Retains Trophy

Buoyed by winning the event in 2017, but with four enforced changes to the squad, nerves were quickly dispelled by a 3-0 victory in the first round.

This was followed by two further victories, scoring seven goals along the way and Phil "The Cat” Walker, named after ex-England goalkeeper Peter Bonetti for his lightening reflexes and agility, conceding only one goal, leading to a play-off with the hosts Morrison Design.  This was a close fought battle as Franklands tried to find a way past an in-form goalkeeper, but striker Andrij Kuprenec  , Commercial Account Handler, stepped up to score the only goal of the game leaving Franklands to claim the silverware.

The tournament was raising money for Special Friends , a local charity which supports parents and carers of young children with additional needs.

In total, almost £1,000 was raised, an immense achievement from everyone who participated and arranged this fundraising event.
