We started the tournament brightly, winning our first game 3-1. The second encounter involved a 2-2 draw which resulted in a rematch with the ‘Golden Goal’ rule in play. In a close fought contest, we ran out as the winners with a goal in the opening minutes.
A win guaranteed us a ticket to the final, going through as group winners. The final, played out over an exhausting 20 minutes, saw us take on tough opposition Interserve, knowing a win would guarantee silverware.
The match started off slow, with no goals in the opening minutes, however, once the first flew in the back of the net, the goals became more frequent, with the final score resulting in an emphatic win by six goals to two and claiming silverware.
The tournament was a great way to raise money for Morrison Design’s employee Ant, who is running the London Marathon for disabled children’s charity Newlife, a charity he and the company have worked close with over the years.
In total, an incredible £1,000 was raised, an immense achievement from everyone who participated and arranged this fundraising event.
