Franklands host breakfast seminar on managing and responding to Cyber risks


The Government’s 2019 Cyber Security Breaches Survey* reveals that 32% of businesses have identified breaches or attacks and that 78% of businesses now rate cyber security as a high priority. However, they often struggle to identify effective solutions to protect, manage and mitigate cyber risk.

Aimed at large businesses, small SMEs and the local professional community, and presented in association with PIB Risk Management, Derbyshire Constabulary and CFC Underwriting Ltd, the seminar will inform delegates on existing and potential cyber risks and provide insight into areas where businesses can improve their cyber security and respond to this growing risk.

The seminar programme includes:

  • Complimentary breakfast and refreshments.
  • A presentation by Jodie Nevin, Cyber Project Officer, Derbyshire Constabulary who will provide insight and knowledge into the world of cyber crime, types of cyber-attacks, how businesses are targeted, strategies to help mitigate and how the police can help prevent cyber-attacks. 
  • Jim Dixon, International Cyber Underwriter, of specialist Cyber Insurer CFC Underwriting will discuss their experience in claims volume, frequency and type of cyber-risks (ransomware, data breach etc) and provide case study examples, providing insight into policy cover and wording extensions. 
  • Stuart Upon, Systems and Process Director of our in-house team of risk managers at PIB Risk Management will discuss strategies to help mitigate cyber risk and inform the audience on solutions to support your business. 

The event will be held at Pride Park Stadium, Derby at 8:30am on Wednesday 22nd May.
